A MAN from Cornwall has been announced as the Best Heating Installer in the South West by judges from the Heating Installer Awards 2025.

Joshua Bond, from Porkellis, specialises in heating and plumbing across Cornwall and the South West with his company Off Grid Plumbing and Heating Ltd.

Joshua’s winning entry featured work completed for an 1800’s cottage heating system which he brought into the 21st century. The existing property had no central heating, and so Joshua recommended Hydrated Vegetable Oil (HVO) boilers for an efficient and environmentally friendly heating system.

Speaking of Joshua’s win, his customer said: “The service was amazing, he told me exactly what he was going to do and why and there were no surprises because he’d highlighted things that might be an issue before hand.

“His work was very neat and tidy even in an empty house, and he put everything back perfectly. The installation is so neat I get comments from every other contractor who attends. He was also very honest about what would work and not for me, designing my system to what I needed.”

The nationwide awards scheme, now in its tenth year, recognises the achievements and raises the credibility of plumbers and heating installers across the country who deliver excellent customer service on a daily basis.

Representatives from the awards’ partners and sponsors, as well as a team of previous winning installers, judged the entries on problem solving, product knowledge and stand out work.

Voting closes at midnight on May 27. Public votes will contribute to a quarter of the installer’s overall scores, and will be added to the judges’ scores and the scores from a technical challenge set for all of the regional winners.

The winners will be announced on June 25 at InstallerSHOW, taking place at Birmingham NEC.
