A NURSING home in Helston, has been purchased and added to a portfolio of care homes, strengthening operations across the South West.

Penhellis House is a ‘Good’ CQC-rated nursing home registered for up to 26 elderly residents with dementia, sensory impairments or physical disabilities.

The care home occupies a stunning Grade II Listed detached residence, providing accommodation across 23 bedrooms, of which 18 have en suite facilities. The Georgian mansion was built in the 1840s and is set within extensive, well-maintained gardens and grounds extending to well over an acre.

The home sits on Cross Street in the town of Helston. It is recognised as one of the most significant buildings in the town and has a long-standing association with Helston Flora Day, during which one of the traditional dances passes through the building each year.

Following a confidential sales process with Simon Harvey at Christie & Co, the home has been purchased by John Griffiths and Peter Angelides of Devon Care & Living in North Devon, who previously acquired a pair of care homes in Paignton through Christie & Co last year. This latest acquisition brings their total portfolio to three homes.

Penhellis House was sold for an undisclosed price.
