CHRISTMAS wreath-making, festive storytelling and traditional carols will all feature in a packed programme of seasonal events at Boconnoc House this December.
The festivities begin with a Christmas wreath-making workshop on Sunday, December 6, giving visitors the chance to create their own festive decoration using natural materials foraged from the Boconnoc estate, near Lostwithiel.
The workshop will be led by floral artist Rebecca Stuart, of The Garden Gate Flower Co, who will guide participants through the process of making a Christmas door wreath.
Guests will be able to explore the grounds to gather leaves, ferns and foliage before getting creative, with all the materials and equipment provided.
Organisers are encouraging people to bring gardening gloves and secateurs, although some will be available.
The two-hour workshop runs from 10am until noon, with tea, coffee and homemade mince pies included. Tickets cost £65.
The festive programme continues on Tuesday, December 15, with an evening of Christmas storytelling and music featuring the Kernow Chamber Players and actor Tama Matheson.
Four classic tales will be brought to life through drama and music, including The Little Match Girl, Hansel and Gretel, The Nutcracker and The Goblins Who Stole a Sexton, from Charles Dickens' The Pickwick Papers.
Doors open at 6.30pm, with the performance beginning at 7.15pm. The Boconnoc Bar will be open for refreshments before the show.
Tickets cost £22.50 for adults and £10 for under-16s.
The following evening, Wednesday, December 16, visitors can enjoy a candlelit concert of traditional Christmas carols performed by Cornish choir Canoryon Lowen.
Boconnoc House will be decorated for the occasion, with candlelight and open fires creating a festive atmosphere. Guests can enjoy drinks in the Drawing Room from 6.30pm before moving into the Garden Room for the concert, which starts at 7.30pm.
Tickets cost £14.50 for adults and £8.50 for children under 12.
