Revellers attending a popular charity beer festival in Newquay over the weekend did not let the wet weather dampen their spirits.
Hundreds of people poured into the 10th Newquay Beer Festival at Hendra Holiday Park organised by Newquay Towan Blystra Lions.
Festivalgoers were spoiled with more than 100 beers and ciders to choose from to whet their whistle, which were sponsored by businesses and individuals to help raise as much money for good causes as possible.
Once again, two of Cornwall’s most popular and entertaining bands rocked the main stage.
Qwest, headed by ‘party-leader in chief’, Lee Quinney, headlined the beer festival on Friday night and TheFortyFours, fronted by the rock singing and guitar playing of Oli Harriss, headlined on Saturday night.
Other acts that took to the stage included Rachel Best, Jason Lockett, Fiddlefit, Oll An Gwella, Newquay Town Band, Mr and Mrs Blue Sky, Ray ‘Raymundo’ Campbell, Simone Rochelle and Paula Marcelis.
Revellers got on their dancing shoes and partied the night away despite the frequent downpours.
The ticket only festival has raised around £80,000 for local good causes over the last decade and organisers are hoping to raise a further £20,000 this year.
Lions President Heather Stanley said: “The weather wasn’t the best it could be at times but didn’t detract from a great event.
“Thank you to my fellow Lions at Newquay Towan Blystra Lions, and other Lions’ club members and friends of the club who gave so much of their time to set up, work and dismantle the event.
“Thanks also to Hendra Holiday Park for being such a great and accommodating venue and last but by no means least the acts who perform for us at no charge, our 100 plus sponsors and everyone who attends.
“We couldn’t do it without you all and we are so grateful for your support.
“Katie’s Hot Pots provided excellent food again, so no-one went hungry. Watch out for the dates for next year.”
