A FLOWER arrangement is set to bloom to mark the 40th anniversary of Newquay’s connection with its twin town in France.

Deputy mayor Sarah Thomson and Lesley Friel of Newquay in Bloom have planted up a new bed outside the Newquay Town Council offices in Marcus Hill to represent the flag of Dinard.

Marley Martin’s environment team at the town council built the planter especially for the occasion.

Cllr Thomson designed the Dinard flag flower arrangement using green sempervivums and red, white and black petunias.

Lesley Friel, the chair of Newquay in Bloom, said: “The flag of Dinard is being created in bloom as part of the 40th anniversary of the twinning link between Newquay and Dinard, which will be celebrated later in October.”
