AN open day is set to take place at St Austell Fire Station on Saturday, September 6.

Visitors can meet the amazing crews who help the community safe for a day packed with action, fun and community spirit from 10am to 1.30pm.

The day will include live fire and rescue demonstrations, which will provide the opportunity to see crews in action. Visitors can meet other emergency services, get to grips with the jobs they do, and get up close with their vehicles.

The event features a huge raffle, with over £1,500 worth of prizes being lined-up already and more is still to come. BBQ food and tasty treats will also be available to help keep everyone fuelled.

Last year’s event raised £4,174.32 for two local charities.
