Firefighters were alerted to a blaze in the St Merryn Airfield area last night.

Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service said "multiple calls" sounded the alarm.

Crews from Padstow, Wadebridge, Newquay and St Columb were sent to deal with reports of a building on fire, together with a duty officer.

They found a building used as a wood store, measuring 8mx20m, well alight.

The crews used breathing apparatus and hose reel jets to put out the fire.
