The Alverton in Truro has welcomed back a familiar face as general manager — Paul Ricketts previously oversaw The Alverton between 2014 and 2018.

Paul’s career spans over 30 years, including roles in a number of high-profile establishments, most recently the Penventon Park Hotel in Redruth, The Falmouth Hotel and Retallack Resort near Wadebridge.

Having left The Alverton initially to go travelling with his son in 2018, Paul has returned and is responsible for overseeing the hotel’s overall operations, ensuring guest satisfaction and maximising profitability.

Paul also plays a crucial role in maintaining a positive work environment, meeting The Alverton’s high quality standards, and implementing long-term strategies for the hotel’s future success.

“When I was approached about returning to The Alverton, it was a no-brainer,” said Paul. “There is something about the hotel that I couldn’t find elsewhere, and I was so happy to see that the special feeling I had five years ago was still here.

“From the moment I walked back into the historic Georgian mansion, I knew I had made the right decision. Now that my son is old enough to travel on his own and does not want his dad tagging along, I’m not going anywhere!”
