RESIDENTS have been left baffled after Meta started stating people who live in Newquay are from Wales.

Members of Facebook and Instagram have tried to change back their location settings, but Meta will not allow it.

Some believe Meta has mistaken Newquay for New Quay in Wales.

Resident John Fernley said: “Meta has deleted our whole town and moved us all to Wales?

“It seems to be a big glitch.

“Being an administrator for Newest Newquay you used to be able to talk directly with Meta but now there is no way of letting them know.

“Meta is aware towns have the same name. I believe Meta has done something similar to other towns in Yorkshire.”
