SCI FI AND pop culture fans descended on Truro on Saturday (August 1) for an extravaganza of comics, movies and gaming.

Hundreds of people, including many in costume, attended Truro Comic Con, organised by Creed Conventions, at Truro School.

They were treated to a guest appearance from actor Warwick Davis, who most notably played the roles Wicket the Ewok in Star Wars, the title hero in Willow, Professor Filius Flitwick and Griphook in Harry Potter, and the titular villain in the Leprechaun horror series.

John Simpkin, who played the role of Klaatu in Return of the Jedi, was also in attendance to pose for pictures and sign autographs.

Activities on offer included a LEGO play pit, a trader and gaming zone as well as a cosplay parade.
