RICHARD O’Brien’s legendary rock ‘n’ roll musical, The Rocky Horror Show, returns to the Cornwall Playhouse this June.
Always fresh and ever subversive, this iconic show has built up a global reputation, having been performed in thirty countries, translated into twenty different languages, and seen by 35 million theatregoers worldwide.
The Rocky Horror Show first began life in 1973 before an audience of 63 people in the Royal Court’s Theatre Upstairs. Since its opening, the show has enjoyed the longest continuous run of a contemporary musical anywhere in the world and it continues to delight audiences on sell-out tours.
It tells the story of two squeaky clean college kids – Brad and his fiancée Janet. When, by a twist of fate their car breaks down outside a creepy mansion, they meet the charismatic Dr Frank-N-Furter. It’s an adventure they’ll never forget, filled with fun, frolics, frocks, and frivolity.
Directed by Christopher Luscombe, the show will feature all the timeless classics including Sweet Transvestite, Dammit Janet, and of course, the Time Warp along with dressing up and audience participation in spades.
Last in Cornwall in June 2023, the show returns to the Cornwall Playhouse stage this year with a fresh cast.
Bringing laughs, thrills and fun, comedian and actor Nathan Caton, who has appeared on TV shows like Live At The Apollo and Russell Howard's Good News, lends his sharp wit and undeniable style to role of The Narrator.
Adam Strong will be making his Rocky Horror debut as Dr Frank-N-Furter. Brad will be played by Connor Carson, Janet by Lauren Chia, Riff Raff by Job Greuter and Magenta/Usherette by Natasha Hoeberigs. Columbia will be played by Jayme-Lee Zanoncelli, Rocky by Morgan Jackson and Eddie/Dr Scott by Edward Bullingham.
The show runs from June 23 to 28 June.
