Free film initiative Escapes returns on Monday, June 2 and Tuesday, June 3, showing emotionally charged independent drama Lollipop ahead of its official UK release date on Friday, June 13.
Lollipop stars Posy Sterling as young mother Molly, recently released from prison and struggling with the bureaucracy of social services to regain custody of her children.
Fellow single mother Amina (Idil Ahmed) helps Molly navigate her challenges, and the two women form a deep bond that empowers them to reclaim control over their lives in the face of a system stacked against them.
Supported by the British Film Industry (BFI) and National Lottery funding, the Escapes campaign is designed to make cinema more accessible to all. See Lollipop at cinemas in Truro, St Austell, Redruth, Newlyn and Falmouth. Sign up at https://escapes.cinematik.app/
