DOCTOR Who fans will be keen to meet actor Paul McGann when he appears at the Comic Con and Gaming Festival in Truro School’s Ben Ainslie Sports Centre on Saturday [April 4].
Best known to many as the Eighth Doctor in the long-running BBC science fiction series, McGann first took the role in the 1996 TV movie, returning 17 years later as part of an online “webisode” to celebrate the show’s 50th anniversary, and in October 2022 for a cameo appearance in Jodie Whittaker’s final episode.
He will be charging £30 for autographs and £20 for selfies (£40 for both).
The family-friendly event is open from 10am to 4pm with props, cosplay, gaming and vendors. Look out for a huge selection of TV and film memorabilia, board and computer games, comics, Lego, Harry Potter and Japanese Manga items, all available to purchase throughout the day – as well as dinosaurs, dragons and robots roaming around to entertain the crowds.
In the Gaming Zone, visitors will be able to experience different types of gaming, including virtual reality and retro games, bringing back childhood memories for adults and testing new player skills.
