FASCINATING Aïda are coming to the St Ives September Festival as they celebrate 40 years as Britain’s greatest cabaret trio.

They will appear at St Ives Theatre on Saturday, September 27 – the final night of the 15-day festival of music and arts – in a special fund-raising show in support of St Ives theatre project Kidz R Us.

On their last tour Fascinating Aïda played more than 100 sell-out shows in the UK, including three nights at both the London Palladium and the Royal Festival Hall and they have also sold out Hall For Cornwall.

A September Festival spokesman said: “We are delighted that Fascinating Aïda have chosen to come to St Ives to support Kidz R Us and are expecting a huge demand for tickets.”

“With matchless musical ingenuity and style, these indomitable women are still mistresses of their craft. Don’t miss the chance to see these unstoppable performers in their glorious prime!”

Fascinating Aïda have for 40 “fierce and fabulous years” been entertaining audiences with their razor-sharp satire.

Dillie Keane, Liza Pulman and Adèle Anderson will be accompanied by Michael Roulston on piano in a show directed by Paul Foster.

Over four decades they have achieved 30 million YouTube hits, 14 million hits for their song Cheap Flights, 11 countries where they have performed, 10 albums, six languages their songs have been translated into, five continents they have performed on.

They have also released four DVDs, had three Olivier nominations, three Drama Desk nominations in New York, two London Cabaret awards, one Perrier nomination and a television special.

Their new show which includes “bad language, interesting words and sexual references” comes with an age guidance: “14+ Suitable for feisty teenagers upwards.”
