Emergency services were scrambled to Pentire Headland in Newquay following concerns for the welfare of a woman on Wednesday night.
Coastguard Rescue Helicopter 924, Newquay and Padstow Coastguard Search and Rescue Teams, the police and ambulance service attended the scene at about 8.15pm.
They carried out a thorough search in “challenging conditions” and were stood down when the casualty was located safe and well at about 9.15pm.
A police spokesman said: “We were called by the ambulance service with a report of concern for the welfare of a woman Pentire Headland.
“Officers attended the scene along with HM Coastguard.
“The woman was located and the incident resolved safely.
A spokesman for Newquay Coastguard said: “After a thorough search in challenging conditions, all agencies were stood down when the casualty was located safe and well.
“Thank you to all teams for their assistance.
“If in difficulty along the coast, dial 999 and ask for the Coastguard.”
