School celebrates strongest A Level results in a decade

Truro School student Celia is off to Balliol College, Oxford, to study English Literature and Language. She has spent years contributing to the drama department, from Twelfth Night to this year’s Hamlet. “It’s not just the performing; I’ve had the opportunity to do costumes, sound recording, all these different things,” she said. “The drama department is so amazing - it’s really shaped me into the person I am.” Truro School

Truro School student Sophie achieved three A*s and an A, and is now fulfilling a lifelong dream to study medicine in Cardiff. “It’s been a lot of hard work to get here, so I’m happy about it,” she said. As head girl, Sophie worked with the Student Council to make sure younger pupils’ voices were heard. Truro School

Truro School deputy head boy Harry secured on an A* in biology and As in chemistry and maths, and has a place at Bristol to study medicine. He was quick to single out the school’s Medical Pathways team for praise: “I can’t thank Ms Havis enough. She’s been really brilliant, doing mock interviews, talking to us about our choices, taking us onto new paths.” Truro School

Truro School head boy Zack (pictured with his mum) achieved A* in geography, As in economics and religious studies and A* in his EPQ. He is off to Warwick to study law. During his time at Truro School, he enjoyed public speaking, rugby and surfing. Truro School

Truro School student Ella, pictured with her parents, earned four A*s at A Leval and is taking a gap year before reading music at Bristol. Ella has pursued extra-curricular activities including chamber choir and jazz band, and has been a chorister since Year 9. Truro School
