A SCHOOL in Newquay buried a time capsule in its grounds to celebrate its first anniversary.

Pupils and staff at Newquay Primary Academy attended the special event to mark a milestone year of learning and preserve memories from its inaugural year for future generations to discover.

The anniversary celebration brought together pupils from every year group, who contributed items to the time capsule reflecting their experiences and aspirations.

Headteacher, Sarah Hildyard said: “This first year has been an incredible journey. We are immensely proud of what our pupils and staff have achieved together in such a short space of time.”

The school hopes that the time capsule will be unearthed by a future generation of pupils, offering a unique snapshot of the academy’s first year in its school building.
