A SCHOOL netball team in Newquay has scored a place in the next round of a prestigious national competition.
Treviglas Academy girls under 13 side has reached the National Cup semi-final following a three-nil win against Colyton Grammar School in a highly competitive match.
The team showed “incredible” determination and “drive” to secure the win in the highly competitive match, which followed their recent victory in round four, where they defeated Millfield by three goals to two in extra time.
Teacher of PE at Treviglas Academy and team coach Mrs Brierley said the “superstars” have consistently demonstrated skill, teamwork and resilience throughout the competition.
She said: "We are incredibly proud of the players for their commitment and teamwork throughout this campaign.
“Thank you to all the players for making this journey so enjoyable, to the parents for their continued support and to Mr Johns for running the line and driving the team bus."
Treviglas Academy is now look forward to the National Cup Semi Finals with great anticipation and are awaiting to find out who their next opponents will be.
James Rogers, the headteacher of Treviglas Academy, added: "We are incredibly proud of the achievements of this fantastic squad. They are a daily credit to the school and the Newquay community."
