STUDENTS from Richard Lander School returned to school to collect their long-awaited GCSE results today (Thursday) - and the achievements of the Class of 2026 are something to be proud of.
After five years of dedication and hard work, students have been rewarded with results that reflect their resilience, commitment and ambition. An impressive 26 per cent of students achieved five or more GCSEs at grades 9 to 7, and 77 per cent of the cohort gained five or more passes at grades 9 to 4.
Other notable highlights included 32 students achieving nine or more GCSEs at grades 9 to 7; 37.3 per cent achieving a grade 9 to 7 in English, and 33.2% achieved a grade 9 to 7 in maths, and 23.6 per cent of students securing 9 to 7 grades in both English and Maths.
A special congratulations goes to two exceptional students, twins Dyan and Kenza, who each achieved seven GCSEs at Grade 9 — the highest grade possible. Kenza was “very shocked and happy” with her achievement, and embraced the school’s ethos: ‘Be the Best You Can Be.’
A spokesperson for the school said: “On behalf of the staff and governing body, we offer our warmest congratulations to our Year 11 students, who have achieved excellent results in their GCSE examinations this summer.
“Today’s results are a celebration not only of academic excellence, but also of the resilience, dedication and community spirit that define Richard Lander School. As they now take their next steps, the Class of 2026 can look to the future with confidence, ready to embrace new challenges and opportunities.
“We wish all our students the very best for the future as they embark on the next stage of their exciting journey. On behalf of the whole school community: well done to Year 11!”
