UNDER the leadership of Mike Date, chief ranger (chairman) of Court Pendennis, officers and members have gathered for their final formal meeting of 2025.
The agenda was packed with discussions on everything from the branch's finances and member grants to upcoming social events and plans for 2026.
Founded on November 15, 1861, Court Pendennis will celebrate its 165th anniversary in 2026.
A special celebratory lunch is planned for Falmouth, alongside a series of social activities and visits throughout the year, marking this significant milestone in the society's history.
At the heart of the Foresters Friendly Society’s mission is the care and support of its members, especially during times of need. This remained a top priority during the meeting, as well as the ongoing efforts to support both local and national charities.
The meeting also offered a seasonal treat, with refreshments including traditional cheese and biscuits, mince pies with clotted cream, fruitcake and chocolate biscuits. Members left the meeting with take home puzzle sheets and free books, a small token of appreciation for their ongoing commitment.
In his closing remarks, chief ranger Mike looked ahead with optimism, said: "As we reflect on our past and look forward to the year ahead, it's clear that the heart of the Foresters is always in caring for one another whether in times of need or celebration.
“The 165th anniversary will be a testament to our enduring values and the strength of our community."
