ALL Hallows Tide has transformed the historic estate of Trelissick, near Truro, into a world of myths, magic and mystery.

Running until Sunday [November 2], this immersive Halloween experience is a collaboration between the National Trust and Dark Cornwall, blending eerie legends, stunning artwork and live storytelling to celebrate the duchy’s darker side.

All Hallows Tide is a celebration of Cornish folklore and creativity as we welcome in ‘Kalan Gwav’, the first days of winter. Dark Cornwall has commissioned local artists to create sculptures, illustrations and artworks that bring myths and legends to life.

Visitors will follow a supernatural trail through the gardens and house, encountering figures from ancient folklore - including the fae King and Queen, the Owlman of Mawnan Smith and a towering 7ft sculpture of mythical sea serpent Morgowr.

Costumes are encouraged, magic is everywhere, and the wizard Merlin himself will step through the veil and visit Trelissick on Thursday, Friday and Saturday to share spellbinding tales from across Cornwall at 10.30am, 11.30am, 1.30pm, 2.30pm and 3.30pm.

Property operations manager Jen Pina said: “Watching the concept imagery develop and come to life has been so exciting. Each myth and legend is full of such creativity, personality and character, and we can’t wait for visitors to meet them.”

As well as the trail of sculptures there’ll be wand and mask making activities for families throughout the week, so you can take the magic and myths home.

Entry to the All Hallows Tide celebrations is included in admission to Trelissick and free for National Trust members. Dogs on short leads are permitted in the garden; only assistance dogs are permitted in the house.

The event coincides with the last week of house opening before it is decorated for a Cornish Christmas. For more information visit nationaltrust.org.uk/trelissick .
