CONSTRUCTION is in full swing to build a new multi-million-pound activity centre in Newquay

The frame is in place for the Rocks Family Activity Centre at Hendra Holiday Park, which is still due to open in the summer despite the recent adverse weather.

The new year-round and wet-weather activity centre will include a family climbing facility featuring 15 climbing walls, a three-storey soft play area, gym, community event space, a café and birthday party rooms.

A spokesperson for Hendra said: “The build is coming along. Despite some challenging weather recently, the team have powered through and made fantastic progress.

“The frame is in place and we're near finishing the roof.

“Next up, we’re moving on to the walls, the floor base and electrics as this incredible space really starts to take shape.

“We've also received a fantastic number of responses on the survey to help us create a building that will be a great fit for the community.

“This is the last chance for people to submit their thoughts to help shape this brand-new facility.

“We are still on track for opening this summer.

“Newquay Rocks will also be part of the current locals scheme, so those that purchase a locals card will be able to get discount across climbing and soft play, plus also still getting discount at all of Hendra's food outlets, adventure golf and the Oasis Fun Pool.”
