The Great Art Auction took place at Lemon Street Market in Truro.

Guests were treated to a beautiful display of contemporary and traditional artworks, each capturing the essence of one of the Great Gardens of Cornwall’s unique landscapes.

Artists Lizzie Black, Andrew Tozer, Rob Rimmington, Nicky Walker, Mary Jago, Kate Cambridge, Lorna Tremayne, Susan Nathan and Carol O’Toole contributed work to be auctioned, while the participating gardens were Tresco Abbey Garden, Tregrehan, Trewithen, Lamorran, The Lost Gardens of Heligan, Trebah Garden, Antony Woodland Gardens, Caerhays Castle Spring Gardens and Bonython Estate Gardens.

Lively bidding under the gavel of auctioneer Edward Buckland resulted in an impressive total of £5,350 raised for Cornwall Community Foundation, which awards small grants to grassroots, front-line, volunteer-led organisations making a positive impact in their area.

The money helps to overcome challenges of disadvantage, exclusion and poverty for all ages.

The Great Gardens of Cornwall is a collection of 13 of the best-known and most historically and horticulturally important gardens in the county and also the Isles of Scilly.
