A nostalgic Christmas concert is due to be staged in Saltash by Plymouth Gilbert and Sullivan Theatre Productions.

The group will be performing “I’ll Be Home For Christmas” at the Burraton Community Centre on Saturday, December 17, at 2pm.

This will be the first time that the theatre company has performed in Saltash.

The cast of around 25 will be taking the audience through Christmas present, past and still to come with versions of songs such as Deck the Halls, Joy to the World and Angels We Have Heard On High.

The company will also musically reflect upon the true meaning of Christmas as Incredible Phat, the Innkeeper’s Cat, leads the audience to a stable in Bethlehem for Oh Holy Night and Do You Hear What I Hear, before they are transported to the Christmas Truce of 1914 and a new arrangement of Stille Nacht/Silent Night. There will be performances of songs from movies and a medley of Christmas favourites.

λTickets costing £10 are available from Saltash Fore Street shops – Piglets and Saltash News – or from Lynn Marsh, 01752 844255. Proceeds will benefit the Sue Hooper Charitable Foundation.
