Charities have scooped an Easter treat thanks to a Newquay charity.

Newquay Towan Blystra Lions Club staged its annual Easter Draw with 10 giant eggs up for grabs in aid of good causes.

Draw sheets were placed in local establishments a few weeks ago and most ended up being totally filled with names of customers and others who fancied a punt at being the lucky person who scooped the prize for £1 an entry.

The establishments themselves then nominated a charity or good cause of their choice for half of the profits to go to with the other half being used by the Lions to support local causes through their Community Fund.

Taking part and helping raise over £1,100 in total this year were Heron Tennis Centre, The Tavern, The Griffin Inn, The Farmer’s Arms St Columb Minor, The Pheasant Inn St Newlyn East, The Falcon at St Mawgan, The Two Clones and Quintrell Inn at Quintrell Downs, The Godolphin Arms and The Traveller’s Rest/Newquay AFC.
