A Cornish school has announced a delicious step forward in its school meals offering, with free-range, farm-fresh eggs now delivered weekly from Cornhill Farm, a supplier based in Kehelland near Camborne.

This new partnership is part of Camborne Science & International Academy’s (CSIA) wider effort to improve food quality by sourcing ingredients locally and sustainably, all while supporting Cornwall’s farming community.

Cornhill Farm’s eggs are already being used in a variety of meals on the school’s newly launched in-house catering menu, from breakfast options to fresh bakes, giving students the benefit of high-quality, nutritious ingredients produced right on their doorstep.

The move is just one of many planned improvements as CSIA reshapes its food service to reflect its values of health, sustainability, and community. They are also now sourcing meat locally from Etherington Butchers and hope to include more Cornish produce in school meals soon.

Earlier this year the school moved its catering service in house to ensure that every meal served is as fresh, balanced, and delicious as possible.

Principal Emma Haase said: “It’s a small change with a big impact. By choosing local eggs, we’re not only boosting the quality of food for our students, but also backing our local farmers and reducing our environmental footprint. It’s a real win-win.
