The Boardmasters surf and music festival has revealed some of the headliners for next summer’s event, one of the biggest in Cornwall.
Liam Gallagher and Florence and The Machine head up the bill for next summer’s festival from August 9 to 13.
They were joined by more than other artists in the first announcement for the 2023 event.
Boardmasters 2022 saw a sell-out, and organisers say 2023 demand is at an all-time high with a record tens of thousands of fans signing up for the festival’s pre-sale.
Boardmasters is officially the only festival in the country to feature Liam Gallagher next summer. The Sunday will see Florence and The Machine draw a close to Boardmasters 2023 off the back of the release of new album Dance Fever.
More artists include this year’s Mercury Prize winner Little Simz as well as electronic DJ Four Tet and chart-topping Example.
Pop talent Dylan will be at Boardmasters 2023, plus rap-rock duo Bob Vylan, punk Cassyette, rising punk-rock band Kid Kapichi and electro-pop duo Jockstrap.
Gwenno, famed for her Cornish language work, will be at Boardmasters, as she is added to the line-up alongside artists including Connie Constance who’s just released her awaited album Miss Power, New Zealand’s reggae collective Katchafire, Gretel Hänlyn, and punk-turned-Americana Newquay-based artist Wunderhorse.
The DJ and electro line-up announced so far includes tech DJ Ben Nicky, and Dimension. DJ collectiv Kings Of The Rollers joins the line-up, along with London DJ Kanine, plus Paul Woolford and Danny Howard.
Festival-goers can also sign up for surf and adventure packages with lessons available. Boardmasters works with local surf schools and instructors including Fistral Beach Surf School, Escape Surf School, Westcountry Surf School, Blue Surf School and Newquay Activity Centre.
Adventure packages are available to book too, include coasteering, kayaking, stand-up paddle boarding, bodyboarding and snorkel tours.
