FUNDRAISER extraordinaire Jessica Pascoe is celebrating after raising nearly £3,000 for causes close to her heart.

Every two years Jessica organises a big event raising money for charities, with the fundraising day staged this summer being the third since she started.

The event held at Penwithick Social Club, near St Austell, raised a total of £2,937.37 to be shared between Scotty’s, a charity supporting bereaved children of fallen servicemen and women, Dementia UK and the South Western Ambulance Charity.

The day ran from noon to midnight with a raffle, a tombola, an auction of donated items, a 12-hour darts marathon and music.

Following the event, Jessica posted on social media, saying: “After having a couple days’ recovery and letting it all sink in, I would just like to say a massive thank you to each and every one of you that attended my charity day – it was the best day ever and you were all brilliant. I want to thank every single person who gave up their time to put on entertainment throughout the day.

“And now a huge shout out and thanks to all of the local businesses, family and friends that donated prizes. If it wasn’t for you, we wouldn’t have raised what we did through having the tombola and raffle. You all are truly amazing people and I really appreciate everything you have given.

“I’m so overwhelmed by it all and I’m honestly so proud that we have helped these charities out. But for now that's my work done – and now to think about two years’ time.”

Among those taking part in the entertainment on the day were Philip Greet with his Nightchasers disco, the Dreckly Boys choir, jazz and soul vocalist Cee Cee Dyne, the Timeless vocal trio, Garry Tregidga, and the Double Bounce dance and party cover eight-piece band.
