TWENTY six artists will be opening the doors of their studios – several not normally accessible to the public – during this year’s St Ives September Festival.

The Open Studios line-up ranges from the bigger venues to the home and garden studios of individual artists.

Eight artists will be taking part at White’s Old Workshops with six potters and ceramicists involved at the Gaolyard Studios.

Both venues will be holding special events with Open Evenings at White’s, where visitors can “meet the artists and enjoy drinks and nibbles” on September 20 and 21.

Visitors are also invited to the Gaolyard’s annual Cup Sale and Drinks event from 5 to 7pm on September 18.

A new venue this year is Anne Bowsher’s Zigzag Cottage in Back Road East where the artist will be displaying her oil, watercolour and acrylic mixed media inspired by the coastal landscape around St Ives.

As well as the town’s studios, ceramic sculptor Tamsyn Trevorrow will be inviting visitors to take a trip out to her Chez Nous Studio in Canonstown, Lelant.

Other solo artists taking part include Susan Thomas at The Studio in Norway Square, and two in Bedford Road with Juliet Middleton-Batts at a former shop in and Diana Forrest (aka Gazelle) at her garden studio.
