AN appeal has been launched after an all-terrain vehicle used by the Newquay RNLI lifeguard team was stolen from Crantock Beach.
The quad bike, which has registration WA18 CHH, was taken from a secure container sometime overnight on Thursday, August 28.
A spokesperson for Newquay RNLI lifeguards said: “The all-terrain vehicle is essential lifesaving equipment, paid for by our generous donors and is vital for allowing our lifeguards to respond to incidents quickly on the beach at Crantock.
“During the break in, damage was sustained to the container, which is owned and used by the local Crantock Surf Lifesaving Club, another charity that is run by volunteers and reliant on donations.
“We’re so disappointed this has happened, particularly at this point in the season as it’s been an incredibly busy period for all lifesavers at Crantock.”
Anyone with information is urged to contact Devon and Cornwall Police by dialling 101 and quoting crime reference number DCP-20250828-0141.
