CORNWALL Council and its arm’s-length company CORMAC are carrying out essential highway preservation treatment on the A39 between Arch Hill in Truro and Playing Place.

Work to seal the road surface and extend its life will include surface dressing, ploughing and siding operations to clear drainage and edges.

The project starts tonight (Monday, August 17), and is scheduled for completion by Tuesday, August 25, working overnight on weekdays only from 7pm to 6am.

Total overnight road closures will be in place, with signed diversion routes. Access for public transport, emergency services and restricted local access will be managed on site.

A Cornwall Council spokesperson said: “We recognise these works will affect local traffic and have designed the programme to minimise the duration of the closures and reduce disruption.”
