A MAN from St Austell has recently appeared in court after breaching his Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO).
His CBO, which was issued earlier this year to prevent and deter offending, imposed conditions which included restricting him from calling 999 for non emergency reasons.
However, over the course of 11 days in October, the male was identified as allegedly calling the emergency services on 38 separate occasions.
As a result, the man was arrested, charged and remanded to Cornwall Magistrates Court on Monday, November 2. He has since been bailed pending a hearing on Friday, December 4.
A St Austell Police spokesperson said: “A male from St Austell appeared at Cornwall Magistrates Court charged with breaching his Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO).
“The CBO was issued by Cornwall Magistrates Court in 2026 to prevent and deter offending. The CBO imposed strict conditions including restricting him from calling 999 for non emergency reasons.
“Over the course of 11 days in October the male was identified as allegedly calling the police, ambulance service and coastguard on 999 on 38 occasions for non emergency reasons.
“The neighbourhood team subsequently arrested, charged and remanded the male to court on November 2. The male was bailed from court for a further hearing on December 4.”
