POLICE are investigating a safe heist after a burglar broke into a restaurant in Newquay.

A man reportedly smashed the front door window of Pizza Jockeys in Wesley Yard before removing the safe from the premises on Wednesday, August 27, between 5am and 6.30am.

Pizza Jockeys on social media stated: “We had a break at our Newquay restaurant in Wesley Yard. We’re appealing for anyone with door camera footage in the Jubilee Street, Wesley Yard, St John’s Road area from the morning.

“Assailant will be carrying a safe if caught on his way away from the scene. He is a tall white slim male wearing a black hooded coat and cap with grey trousers or trackies and black shoes.”

Police are now appealing for witnesses or asking anyone who may have seen suspicious activity in the area to come forward.

Officers are keen to hear from anyone who may have captured the suspect on CCTV, dashcam or doorbell footage.
