A MOPED rider died after being involved in a collision with a bus near Newquay on Sunday (August 24)
A 22-year-old male rider of a white 110cc moped who was from the Newquay area was pronounced deceased at the scene of the incident, which happened on the A3059 at around 12.25am.
The 33-year-old driver of the red single decker bus from the St Austell area was uninjured.
The road was closed while officers carried out an examination of the scene. The closures were handed over to highways at around 3.45am.
A police spokesperson said: “Police are appealing for witnesses following a two-vehicle road traffic collision on the A3059 near Newquay.
“It was reported at around 12.25am on Sunday, August 24that a two-vehicle road traffic collision had occurred on the A3059 near to Newquay, which involved a white 110cc moped and a red single decker bus.
“As a result of the collision the 22-year-old male rider of the moped who was from the Newquay area was pronounced deceased at the scene.”
