A LEARNER motorcyclist who did a wheelie on a main road in Cornwall in front of the police has had his bike seized.

Police in St Austell said the motorcyclist also had a flipper numberplate installed on the bike so the registration number could be hidden.

Posting on social media on Friday, September 19, officers said: “Yesterday evening a motorcyclist who was riding his bike on the A390 was silly enough to do some careless riding including doing a wheelie in front of a police officer.

“When stopped, he was found to be a provisional licence holder and had a flipper numberplate installed.

“The bike was seized under powers available to the police under Section 59 of the Police Reform Act 2002.”
