TWO fire crews from St Austell responded to reports of a sunbed on fire in the town centre.
The Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service received a call about the fire at around 5pm on Thursday, May 29. The fire was reported at premises in Duke Street.
When the firefighters arrived, the sunbed was smoking. Two members of the crews, wearing breathing apparatus, put out the fire using a hosereel and a fire extinguisher.
A fire service spokesperson gave details of the incident, saying: “Two crews from St Austell attended a call to a sunbed on fire.
“On the crews’ arrival, the sunbed was smoking. Firefighters used two breathing apparatus, one hosereel and a carbon dioxide extinguisher on the fire.”
