A FIRE in the early hours of the morning in Cornwall’s Clay Country is being treated as suspicious.
Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service said the incident was reported between 2am and 3am on Monday (October 19).
The fire was in a large shed at Greensplatt, north of St Austell, in the Treverbyn parish, the fire service being alerted at 2.41am.
Two fire engines went to the scene and firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used hose reel jets to put out the blaze.
Police were called to Greensplatt because the cause of the blaze was suspicious.
A fire service spokesperson said: “One appliance from St Austell and one from St Dennis attended this incident, which involved a 9m by 9m shed.
“The crews used two breathing apparatus and two hose reel jets to extinguish the fire. The cause is suspicious and the police were also in attendance.”
