Truro saw in 2026 with two New Year firework displays. An early-evening event for families took place at 7.30pm, with vouchers worth £3 handed out to children to be spent on food, drink and rides.

Traditionalists were able to celebrate the New Year with a midnight spectacular. Viewers gathered on Lemon Quay while fireworks were launched from within the grounds of Truro School.

The event was organised by Truro City Council's events officer, with special thanks to Celebration Pyrotechnics, Truro School, Raymonds Amusements, voucher scheme donors, Paul Caruana and volunteers, many of whom turned out on New Year’s Day armed with brooms, brushes and spades to remove tens of thousands of small fragments of cardboard Truro School car park and playing fields.
