A FREE family-friendly mini festival will take place on Truro’s Lemon Quay this Sunday (September 7) from 12.30pm to 5pm.

It Takes All Sorts will be an uplifting afternoon of live music – from jazz and blues to indie pop, Frank Sinatra and even traditional Cornish – plus food, art and craft, children’s activities, a nature/plant zone, a clothes swap and bric-a-brac stall.

The event is The festival is hosted by Transition Truro, which is helping to build a resilient community which is both planet- and people-friendly.

The festival is intended as a joyful celebration of community and diversity in the face of current challenges including the cost-of-living crisis, the climate emergency and global conflicts.

There will be a collection in aid of War Child, a charity working around the globe to protect, educate and stand up for the rights of children living through conflict in remote environments.

“We want people from all walks of life, of all ages and backgrounds to come along and have a good time - because it really does take all sorts,” said organiser Ruth Mason.
