TRELISSICK is going all out for the holidays with a summer of non-stop family fun to keep kids active, creative and smiling. From archery Mondays to fancy dress Fridays, learning circus skills or relaxing with outdoor yoga, there’s something new to try daily until Tuesday, September 2 at the National Trust property near Truro.
The stables have been transformed into a creative play zone, complete with storytelling stage and dressing-up station. Outside, children can challenge each other to tennis and lawn games, take on a garden trail, or simply enjoy time together in nature.
“We know families are looking for affordable ways to enjoy the summer holidays, and Trelissick’s Summer of Play is all about making great memories outdoors,” said visitor experience officer Emily Hide. “There are different activities every day, so you really can play on repeat throughout the summer.”
Summer of Play is free with normal National Trust admission and made possible thanks to support from Starling Bank. Dogs on short leads are welcome in the garden – just keep paws on the paths. For more information, visit: https://www.nationaltrust.org.uk/visit/cornwall/trelissick/events.
Families can make the most of the holidays with a whole host of play-packed days out at National Trust places across Cornwall. Trengwainton, near Penzance, offers wild art and skittles; Lanhydrock, near Bodmin, invites families to pick up a map and play their way around the garden with a series of creative challenges and activities; Antony in south-east Cornwall is hosting a packed programme four days a week with giant garden games, block tower battles and tennis tournaments; and Glendurgan, near Falmouth, brings storytelling, crafts and a nature trail to its apple orchard, as well as adventure in the iconic maze and on the Giant’s Stride.
