MOUSEHOLE got their stuttering season back on track on Saturday in the best possible style with a 3-0 success at Swindon Supermarine on Saturday in Southern League Division One South.
The Seagulls made the trip to Wiltshre just two points above the bottom four having amassed just 14 points from as many games, however once Hayden Turner put them in front from the penalty spot on 35 minutes, they never looked back.
The hosts had their moments as they pushed for an equaliser, however Jake Ash’s side secured a fifth league win of the season via Jack Symons’ brace which came in the space of three minutes.
The first arrived on the hour when he fired in from Turner’s pass, before a brilliant solo effort saw him cut inside before fooling two defenders and finding the far corner.
Falmouth Town remain on 14 points after a 4-2 reversal at Winchester City.
The Amber and Blacks made the long trip to Hampshire to face a side chasing a spot in the top five, and the hosts that flew into a 3-0 lead by half-time.
Oliver Balmer gave them an eighth minute lead, before Callum Buckley (36) and Jez Bedford (41) increased the lead in the space of five minutes.
Oscar Massey, recently back at Town from Mousehole, pulled one back on 59 minutes before adding a second 20 minutes from time.
Falmouth piled forward in search of a heroic point, but Winchester, who moved up to second in the table, sealed victory in the eighth minute of added on time via Conor Lynch.
Falmouth stay two points ahead of fourth bottom Bideford who lost 2-0 at Bristol Manor Farm.
Both Cornish sides are in home action on Tuesday night (7.45pm).
Falmouth host leaders Portishead Town who are on course for successive promotions, while Mousehole welcome another side flying high in Exmouth Town.
The weekend games see Falmouth welcome play-off chasing Bishops Cleeve to Bickland Park, while the Seagulls make the long trip to Didcot Town in Oxfordshire.
