Cornish Pirates take on RFU Championship leaders Ealing Trailfinders on Saturday looking for their first win at the Trailfinders Sports Ground in six years.

It's a tough ask for the Pirates, who have moved up to fifth in the table, because they have not won a league game at that venue since emerging 22-16 victors in December 2016.

Changes in the Pirates starting line-up see hooker Morgan Nelson getting the nod to make his first league start and Olly Adkins named at loose-head prop.

Ben Grubb, who made his Pirates debut off the bench at London Scottish last weekend, is set to start in the number 8 shirt, James Fender returns on loan from Ospreys to partner Steele Barker in the second row, and another returnee is fit again wing Robin Wedlake.

Centre Rory Parata will again skipper the side in the absence of injured club captain John Stevens, and Max Norey is listed among the replacements to provide back row cover.

Pirates’ joint head coach Alan Paver said: “Fully understanding that Ealing Trailfinders form a strong side, and especially so at home, it will be important for us to approach the game in the right manner.

“We have picked up some bumps and bruises in training, and need to freshen up a couple of bodies this week, but having said that we also welcome certain guys back, some exciting young players, and as always we’ll travel well prepped.

“The players know what is at stake and are going to get into the game and see what happens, which we need to do.”
