DURING August, I’ve been a tad quieter on the local scene in Roche and Bugle, but rest assured, I’ve been working hard for our community, especially our veterans.
As a proud veteran myself, I’ve been pouring my energies into a special project close to home: Vet Fest 2025. Set for September 6 at Trekenning Holiday Park, Newquay, this event is more than just a splash – it’s a heartfelt tribute to the brave men and women who’ve served our nation.
Organised with Black Bearing, whose motto “We are all brothers” resonates deeply, Vet Fest promises live music, a heated pool, camping and a cracking barbecue. It’s a chance to honour our veterans, many of whom hail from our own Cornish villages, with a day of unity and celebration. I’ve been working behind the scenes to ensure this event shines a light on their sacrifices, something I feel passionately about given my own service days.
Trekenning Holiday Park, with its welcoming vibe, is the perfect spot for this community gathering. It’s not just about the fun – it’s about showing our veterans they’re valued. I encourage you all to join us, bring the family and support this cause. Let’s make it a day to remember.
I’ll be back in the coming weeks with more updates, but for now, mark your calendars for Vet Fest. It’s our chance to stand tall for those who stood for us and any profits will be donated to a veterans charity, to be decided. Please contact me if you have any questions. Cheers, and see you there!
