AS a newly-elected councillor for St Stephen in Brannel Parish, I’ve hit the ground running, working diligently to serve our community while navigating the complexities of local governance.
One of my proudest achievements this term was securing a safer bus stop location in Nanpean. After residents raised concerns about its dangerous position, I collaborated with authorities to relocate it, ensuring greater safety for all users.
Similarly, I tackled a serious speeding issue near a local school, working with relevant bodies to implement measures that protect our children. These outcomes reflect my commitment to addressing constituents’ concerns promptly and effectively.
Beyond casework, I’ve been actively involved in parish matters. I attended the parish annual general meeting, engaging with residents and discussing priorities for St Stephen in Brannel. I also participated in the incinerator trust meeting, advocating for transparency and community interests. Several constituent issues have been referred to appropriate channels, and I’m closely monitoring progress to ensure timely resolutions.
As a new councillor, I’ve immersed myself in extensive training to understand the intricacies of local government. Navigating County Hall, mastering new technology and building relationships with colleagues have been both challenging and rewarding.
I’ve also enjoyed connecting with the Reform UK team, whose shared vision for positive change inspires my work.
Meeting residents and hearing your stories drives my passion to serve. Whether it’s tackling safety concerns or amplifying your voices, I’m dedicated to making a tangible difference in our parish.
I welcome your feedback and concerns – together, we can build a stronger, safer St Stephen in Brannel.
