IT’S an honour to have been elected as your new councillor for Penwithick and Boscoppa. I want to thank every resident who took the time to speak with me during the campaign and everyone who supported me at the ballot box. I stood for election because I care deeply about our community and want to be a strong voice for local people who often feel unheard.
These first few weeks have been a whirlwind, full of learning, listening and getting stuck in. I’ve been attending training sessions, meeting with Cornwall Council officers and beginning to understand the inner workings of the council. It’s clear there’s a lot of red tape and bureaucracy, but I’m committed to cutting through it to get results.
Already, I’ve raised issues around road closures, potholes, pavement parking and lack of signage in key areas. I’ve also begun conversations about improving accessibility for disabled residents and pushing for better housing standards, especially when it comes to accessible homes. As someone with lived experience of disability, I know how vital these issues are, not just in policy, but in real people’s everyday lives.
I’ve been out meeting residents, attending community meetings and taking note of the concerns raised. Whether it’s fly-tipping, planning decisions or poor transport links, I’m here to help and will always follow up where I can.
I will work hard, be honest with you and keep you informed every step of the way.
If you need to reach me, I’m available via email at [email protected] or on my councillor Facebook page. Let’s build a better future for Penwithick and Boscoppa - together.
