In My View with Jack Yelland: Future of former pub building remains a top priorityAssembled in less than 24 hours after a Facebook appeal, a group of local residents joined Cornwall councillors Richard Pears-Williams and James Mustoe in torrential rain as they chopped, weeded and bagged seven large dumpy bags using tools provided by Cornwall Council. Councillor Pears was impressed by the group’s tenacity.
“This was a superb effort in what are less than ideal conditions,” he said.
“This small hamlet is popular with cyclists, runners and pedestrians, and we’ve taken back years of overgrowth in at least one section, widening it back to its original Cornish stone boundaries.
“Although Cornwall Council provided us with the equipment, it was the sheer hard work of all those attended that made it happen.”
