There was lots of family fun at Newquay Fire Station open day on Tuesday.

Dozens of people attended the popular annual event at its headquarters in Tregunnel Hill.

Firefighters showcased their skills with aerial ladder platform and road traffic collision live demonstrations.

Other emergency services who operate alongside the fire service attended the open day to highlight what they do, which included Newquay RNLI, Newquay Coastguard Search and Rescue Team and Cornwall Council’s Tri-Service.

Visitors had the opportunity to meet the fire crews, tour the appliances and get their faces painted.

There were also fun stalls, prizes and refreshments on offer including some fiery hotdogs from the barbecue.

Money raised throughout the day is being donated to The Firefighters Charity and Little Harbour Children’s Hospice.
