A vehicle crashed through the glass frontage and doors of the Next store at Treliske Retail Park yesterday, ending up 10ft inside the shop to the alarm of shoppers.

No one was injured in the incident, although the store sustained damage to its glassdoors.

A Devon and Cornwall Police spokesperson said police were called at 3.55pm following the collision.

“The vehicle went through the glass frontage/doors and ended up around 10ft insidethe Next store at Treliske Retail Park,” said the spokesperson.

“No-one inside the vehicle or the shop was injured. The female driver was checked overby ambulance.

“The fire service also attended and the area has been made safe.”

A NEXT spokesperson said: "We can confirm that a car was driven into our NEXT store on the Tresliske Retail Park in Truro on Thursday , September 14 at 3.55pm. The store was immediately evacuated. 

"We do not have any other details at present since this is being handled by the local police, only to add that thankfully no one was hurt. The store is open today for click and collect from the entrance of the store. Store will return to full trading once safety works are fully complete; hopefully this will be by the weekend. "
