FIVE action-packed days of Cornwall’s finest food and drink are coming to Truro’s Lemon Quay in a bid to beat the end-of-summer blues.
Truro Food Festival runs from Wednesday, September 24 to Sunday, September 28, promising a dazzling line-up of inspirational chefs, a programme of interactive workshops, an array of irresistible street food and so much more to get your teeth into.
Stall after stall of fresh foodstuffs and artisan produce will showcase the late summer harvest, while teasing the comfort food vibe of the autumn ahead.
Familiar faces from TV and Cornwall’s top restaurants abound, with the likes of Paul Ainsworth, Nisha Parmar, Jude Kereama, Candice Brown, Charlie Walters and Jack Stein.
For those seeking something a little more off the beaten track, don’t miss The Crisp Sommelier, cook-come-comedian Rose Cant, and fuss-free wine advice from freelance sommelier Elly Owen.
Fringe events take place at Skinner’s Tap Yard Bar each evening, including a chilli eating competition, a lobster night, live music sessions and a silent disco.
“Truro Food Festival captures what’s so special about Cornwall’s food culture,” said Paul Ainsworth. “It brings together brilliant local producers, great chefs and fun interactive workshops that encourage everyone to get hands-on. It’s a true celebration of community, and I can’t wait to be involved again this year."
Festival lead Stewart Girvan added: “This is a genuinely local food festival, packed with fresh produce and street food stalls and really showcasing the Cornish food scene in all its quality and diversity.”
The full line-up of chef demonstrations and pre-bookable hands-on workshops can be explored at www.trurofoodfestival.co.uk. Alternatively, to stay up to date with festival news, follow @trurofoodfestival on Facebook or @truro_food_festival on Instagram.
