RAF St Mawgan near Newquay has been demonstrating its capabilities to top brass.
Air Commodore Ady Portlock, Commander Air Bases, and Group Captain Claire O’Grady, Station Commander RAF Brize Norton, visited the airbase for a tour.
A spokesperson said: “The visit was an opportunity to demonstrate the incredible utility of RAF St Mawgan for the Royal Air Force and wider defence.
“As the Royal Air Force increases its agility by employing air power from a wider range of locations, RAF St Mawgan will play a crucial role in supporting this activity.
“For over 80 years we have looked out across the North Atlantic, protecting the Western Approaches from hostile threats, and our role in building resilient people has never been more important with the situation in Eastern Europe.
“RAF St Mawgan is proud to be at the forefront; home to the specialist training units of Robson Resilience Centre St Mawgan and the Defence SERE Training Organisation, delivering operationally-focussed training to thousands of students each year.
“There were lots of great discussions had about how the whole force at RAF St Mawgan plays such a crucial role in allowing the RAF to fly and fight.”
